Truly Happy

Today’s been a simple day. Small groups canceled, didn’t get much schoolwork done, and I haven’t really been sure what to do today.

As I looked out the window, I started singing to myself, just train-of-thought. Eventually I sat down to write what I was saying and soon completed the following poem.

Ryan Vegh

The snow keeps on falling on the ground
Oh, the snow keeps on tumbling down
And here I am, in a room, just waiting around

I’m waiting for direction
Tell me, what’s with my obsession
For control?
I’d like to know

Every day is not the same,
Yet cycles seems so present in my life
The ups and downs, the lefts and rights,
Thinking things and wishing life
Could be more than I can make it to be
Yet simply…

I know God has His hand on my life
Through the quarrels and through the fights that I see
In every ray of sunshine You smile down upon me
And I can’t help but see the brighter side

Thank You, God, for Your healing hand,
Your perfect will and Your perfect plan,
Despite what I might wish my life to be
‘Cause You’re the only one who can really make my life
